Liquid Ventilation

Perfluorocarbons have cavities where gaseous
oxygen and carbon dioxide can be stored. The
Jebra formulation utilizes the Mangat-Rowsey
principle:

“Vitaegen
that has oxygen gives,
that does not have carbon dioxide takes.”

The affinity for carbon dioxide versus oxygen is
about 6:1. As a result, the oxygenated solution
provides an oxygen reservoir and a carbon dioxide
sink for tissues being preserved ensuring pristine
quality.

                                 Liquid Ventilation for Tissue Storage

Jebra's corneal storage system extends the useful shelf life of harvested corneas from 5-7 days to over 30 days.

Extending the viable storage time reduces waste, currently as much as 40%of harvested tissue, and allows for export to overseas destinations suffering from a shortage.
